Save Grey Gardens Gala: May 1

Please join us for this year’s fundraising event!

Ms. Edith Bouvier Beale and Ms.”Little” Edie Beale along with Actors’ Theatre cordially invite you to “SAVE GREY GARDENS!”

The gala is May 1, 2014 from 6:30-9:00pm

Since the Grey Gardens estate is not currently safe for visitors, the gala will be held at the brand new
Rockford Construction headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids located at 601 First Street.

Attire for the event is business casualwith Bouvier attitude.
As Big Edie told Little Edie, “Don’t get excited, just put the damn thing on!”
Want to attend in true Bouvier attire? Best costume will win a prize!

The evening’s events will include: live and silent auctions, live performances around the Bouvier family grand piano, complimentary food and beverages, various games and photo opportunities!

*There may also be a sneak peek at Actors’ 2014-2015 Season line-up!*

Tickets are $35 for one, $60 for couples, and $20 for students (with proof of ID) IN ADVANCE.
At the door, tickets increase to $45 for one, $70 for couples, and $25 for students.

Mardi Gras Celebration at Fountain Street Church

Join us for Fountain Street’s very first Mardi Gras Celebration & Fundraiser! This fundraiser will be held for Fountain Street Church, with a portion of our profits going to our partner, The Grand Rapids Red Project, to support their efforts in educating our community on the reality of HIV/AIDS.

Beat the cold with an evening filled with New Orleans-inspired Food, wine, beer, beads, beignets, and lively entertainment! You will get to enjoy a silent auction, complimentary photos, and musical performances by the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra, Hawks & Owls String Band, The New Revival Jazz Band, and Kelly Carey! Stay for the Grand Finale featuring some very fabulous, marvelous, dazzling, and glamorous entertainers!

If you cannot come yourself, please consider purchasing a ticket for someone who may not be able to afford their own!

A ticket includes two drinks!

Book Fair for Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids

Jewish Theatre of Grand RapidsJewish Theatre Grand Rapids (JTGR) will be the beneficiary of a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble at Woodland Mall on Thursday, December 12, 2013. A portion of all sales, including food, stationary, cards, etc. will go to support JTGR when you mention the Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids Code bookfair ID# 1192432 at the checkout.

Out of town friends and family can support the theater as well! People can shop at ANY Barnes and Noble store anywhere in the world on December 12th and just tell the cashier that they would like a percentage of their sale to benefit Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids Code bookfair ID# 1192432.

Online shoppers have 5 days to shop! Any day between Thursday, December 12th and Monday, December 16th, online shoppers just have to enter our bookfair ID# 1192432 Any online sales between those 5 days will benefit Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids.

Thursday, December 12th, is an All Day Event, with an informational table set up at the Woodland store manned by representatives from the theater to answer questions. Then at 7:00PM: some words from Len Robinson about Jewish Theatre and a special musical performance by Katherine D’Arcy Van Wesep. See www.jtgr.org for further information.

Grand Rapids has a thriving theatre community-one of the best in the country. Actors’ Theatre contributes to that by sparking real discussion about issues that matter to our community.

 We’ve been receiving questions on how you, our patrons, can further support Actors’. Here are some ways you can contribute to the conversation.

  • Talk about Actors’ Theatre, especially to friends and family members who might not be as familiar with us. Tell your story: what have been your experiences, what shows have moved you, and why? Share it on your social networks, at dinner parties, or over coffee with friends. Let people know why you think Actors’ Theatre is an important part of this community.
  • Bring a friend. We have an amazing season lined up, now is a great time to introduce someone new to Actors’! Let’s expand these conversations into the community and turn more people into passionate theatre-goers. Show your support and purchase tickets NOW for “Venus in Fur.”
  • Donate. This is your chance to put your name on Actors’ Theatre. All donors are listed in the Actors’ Theatre programs. You can donate at any level – no amount is too small. We also love our subscription donors who choose to automatically donate an amount each month.
