Facilitated by creative professionals, small design teams engage with multi-faceted creative challenges that connect educational, artistic resources and services to the community. This program is recommended for any student interested in or actively pursuing a career in studio arts, design, non-profit arts management, museum studies, art education or similar careers.

Broadway Grand Rapids seeks an enthusiastic intern with a desire to learn about business and the non-profit industry. Responsibilities include assisting with marketing and public relations; marketing material distribution; managing fundraiser donations; social media; Seat 4 Kids project management; sponsorship campaigns; assisting with phone calls; assisting with mailings; organizing filing system; researching potential sources for funding, including individuals, companies and foundations; assisting with grant writing; special projects as needed; administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements: Excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, ability to work unsupervised and take initiative, highly organized, must like to talk on the phone and to the public, must be able to efficiently and effectively interact with staff, board, and volunteers, must be resourceful, excellent proofreading skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Experience with graphic design and social media marketing encouraged. Must be able to provide transportation to and from internship. Hours are flexible and negotiable. Position is unpaid, but qualified intern will be eligible to receive free tickets to our Broadway productions and parking assistance.

Deadline: April 30, 11. The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre seeks 2 Interns for the 2011-2012 season. Under the supervision of Scenic Designer, Interns will build portfolio, designing and painting productions with shop staff support. Develop rendering, drafting, painting and design skills working in 3 distinct venues – beautifully kept 30’s proscenium house, state-of-the-art arena theatre and intimate studio space. $200 per week, plus housing and paid health insurance. Employment begins June 2011. Twelve month contract with possible second year extension. Qualifications: Scenic Design experience necessary.
